Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Sunday said Georgia can confidently say that its police force operates with a high level of professionalism and holds a worthy place among the world’s leading law enforcement systems.
Speaking at an event marking Police Day, the Prime Minister highlighted the significant progress made over the past year in strengthening the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and enhancing efforts to combat crime.
According to Kobakhidze, major steps have been taken in the fight against organized crime, corruption-related offenses, and illegal migration.
“Today, we can confidently say that the Georgian police operate with a high degree of professionalism and occupy a worthy place among the world’s best law enforcement systems. The strongest evidence of this is the police force’s high reputation and the exceptional trust that the Georgian people place in it”, the Prime Minister said.
Kobakhidze also expressed gratitude to police officers and their families, acknowledging the important role families play in supporting law enforcement personnel.
“I would like to thank your families, who are your main source of support on this challenging path and who share this great responsibility with you”, he added.
The Prime Minister’s remarks came during celebrations dedicated to Police Day, an occasion honoring the service and contribution of Georgia’s law enforcement officers.
