Zurab Pataradze, the Chair of the government of Adjara, on Saturday declared that Batumi was fully ready for the summer tourist season, highlighting renewed infrastructure, new tourist products, improved services, and exceptional hospitality, while stressing the crucial role of security and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in supporting tourism development.

An official event dedicated to the opening of the tourist season was held in Batumi, organised by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials, Chair of the Supreme Council Tsotne Ananidze, including representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and various legislative and local self-government bodies.

Pataradze emphasised that Batumi offers visitors modern infrastructure, diverse new attractions, upgraded services, and warm Georgian hospitality.

“Batumi is fully ready for the summer tourist season with renewed infrastructure, new tourist products, updated services, opportunities, and exceptional hospitality. This is the pragmatic policy of our country and government, based on strength, security, success, and the future. In this context, I would especially like to highlight the involvement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia”, he said.

He further highlighted that unity and inter-agency cooperation remain central priorities for the government.

“When we talk about a safe country, tourism development, increased visibility, and progress, the role of each employee is particularly important. I would like to thank the entire staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for their tireless work, dedication, and contribution to the country’s development. Our unity and coordinated work remain one of our priorities”, Pataradze noted.

The event was opened by Minister of Internal Affairs Sulkhan Tamazashvili, who also highlighted the preparedness of relevant agencies for the tourist season.

After the formal proceedings, a water rescue simulation exercise was conducted to demonstrate emergency response capabilities.
