Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday said Georgia was “ready” for a “close” partnership with NATO.
In his remarks over the NATO Summit in Washington, which will be held between 9 and 11 July, Kobakhidze noted that his did not expect “significant” changes from the Summit in terms of the integration process as “the statements are made by NATO leaders that at this stage the enlargement is not an issue that can be actively discussed”.
“NATO leaders make public statements that at this stage NATO enlargement is not an issue that can be actively discussed. Therefore, we do not expect significant changes from the NATO Summit. Of course, we must be ready for a close partnership with NATO, this has been our task so far and we will continue to work in this direction”, Kobakhidze noted.
