Levan Zhorzholiani

Levan Zhorzholiani, the Head of the Georgian Government Administration, on Monday commented on Georgia’s high ranking in the 2026 Good Government Index published by the Chandler Institute of Governance, stressing that the Georgian Government would do all its best to ensure better results in the coming years.

According to the Index, with a score of 60.3 out of 100, Georgia has surpassed the 60% threshold for the second time in its history. In the global standings, the country secured a spot among the world’s top 50 nations and ranked in the top three among upper-middle-income economies.

“The said study is based on studies by the UN World Bank and the Monetary Fund. It is important that the indicators presented in the study are ethical [leadership], quality of the judicial system, bureaucracy, the stability of business regulation, as well as attracting foreign investments. In recent years, we have had significant results in all areas. The Government will do everything to achieve better results in this direction in the coming years”, Zhorzholiani said.

The Good Government Index evaluates governments using 35 indicators grouped into seven categories: leadership and foresight, sound laws and policies, strong institutions, financial stewardship, attractive marketplace, global influence and reputation, and helping people rise.

Georgian Government received particularly strong rankings in the following indicators:

Ethical Leadership - 41st place
Quality of the Judiciary - 33rd place
Quality of Bureaucracy - 25th place
Stable Business Regulations - 20th place
Transparency - 14th place
Attracting Investment - 12th place
