EU delegation cheers Georgia's historic victory, extends good wishes for Euro 2024

The European Union Delegation to Georgia on Wednesday congratulated Georgians on the “historic victory” and wished “good luck” to the national football team in EURO 2024.

The Georgian national football team on Tuesday qualified for Euro 2024 after beating Greece in a penalty shoot-out after their play-off final ended 0-0 after extra-time.

The EU Delegation noted that “Georgia has booked their place at a major tournament for the first time!”.

Georgia will be in Group F in Germany this summer alongside Turkey, Portugal, and the Czech Republic.

The Georgian national team will make its Euro 2024 debut in Dortmund against the Turkish national team on June 18th.
